Today's Action Step: Pray and ask God who He would like you to invite to Easter at Great Exchange Church. Write down the names of 5 people you are investing in and plan to invite.

It is often quoted that St. Francis of Assisi once said, "Preach the gospel at all times and, if necessary, use words." Would you be surprised to find out that he never actually said that? Believe it or not, he was a great orator and used words very often to proclaim the gospel. Unfortunately many Christians use popular quotes like this as an excuse to never "use words" to talk about Jesus. But is that really possible? Will people turn to Jesus simply because of actions without words?

How will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?
— Romans 10:14, ESV

According to the Bible, the answer is a resounding, "no." The gospel, the good news that Jesus came to identify with us, then died for our sins, and then rose again to conquer sin, shame, and death requires words to understand.

Who in your life is close to you, but far from God? Who are you praying for? Who are you investing in with hopes of being able to share the hope you have found in Jesus? Easter is a perfect opportunity to share the good news of Jesus with someone else. One way that you can do that is to invite them to celebrate Easter with you at Great Exchange Church.
